I am the new interim pastor to come alongside your vicar for official pastoral acts of the congregation, such as presiding weddings, baptisms, and funerals. Your vicar and I will be working together—along with each of you— doing ministry at St. John’s Northumberland. You will see me on Sundays and Wednesdays and other needed days. To that, also, I will be preaching and presiding the first Sunday of the month. To all of this, our gracious God is planning, molding, and making us all to accomplish God’s mission in this community and in the world.
Everyone I have met at St. John’s is so friendly! And, you have a fine tradition of ministry and service to the community. As we journey together, may we continue to have faith, trust, and hope in Christ. A little more, then, to introduce myself. My husband, Dan, and I have five children between us—five sons. We have eight grandchildren and two more to be born in November. Wow—that makes ten! We live outside of East Waterford. My hobbies are reading, music, our cats and chickens, and vegetable gardening.
I am excited to be with you, and look forward to what God will be doing in our midst. And, so, let us pray:
Good and gracious God, continue to lead and guide the congregation of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Northumberland, in your most beneficial ways. Lead us in order that we might glorify and serve you as you call us, by and through the power of your Holy Spirit. In Christ’s name, we pray. Amen.
With Hope & Confidence in Christ,
There is a place for you here.
We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person--questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God's work in Christ's name for the life of the world.
